Power meter common problems and solutions

1, the meter does not display after power-on

Possible cause: Auxiliary power is not added to the meter
Solution: Use a multimeter to measure whether there is a corresponding working voltage on the auxiliary power supply side of the instrument; whether the auxiliary power supply connection is reliable.

2, the instrument flashes after power on

Possible cause: The power supply voltage is outside the working range of the instrument, resulting in power protection of the instrument.
Solution: Disconnect the auxiliary power supply; test whether the auxiliary power supply exceeds the range marked by the meter; test whether the input signal exceeds 120% of the rated value; test whether the ambient temperature exceeds the upper limit of the ambient temperature; and re-energize the auxiliary power supply.

3. The garbled code is displayed after the meter is powered on.

Possible cause: The instrument is subject to large interference
Solution: Turn the auxiliary power off and then power on again;

4, the display is not allowed

Possible cause: The transformer ratio setting is incorrect, the parameters do not match.
Solution: Check whether the ratio of the meter setting is consistent with the ratio of PT and CT; whether the voltage and current ratings are consistent;

5, plus signal no response

Possible cause: The signal is not added to the meter
Solution: Test the instrument terminal block for signal and whether the terminal connection is reliable.

6, three-phase instrument lack of phase

Possible cause: The signal is not added to the meter, the settings do not match.
Solution: Test whether there is any signal to the meter terminal, and whether the terminal connection is reliable. Connect the normally displayed one-phase signal line to the corresponding terminal block to verify whether the meter problem or the peripheral circuit problem; Check the wiring mode of the meter setting. Whether it is consistent with the field wiring method.

7. Energy measurement is not allowed

Possible cause: the ratio is wrong, the phase sequence of the voltage and current is wrong.
Solution: Check whether the ratio of the meter setting is consistent with the ratio of PT and CT. Check whether the phase sequence of voltage and current is correct. In the case of power consumption, the meter with power display can view the meter through the power display of the meter. Whether the phase power has a negative indication, if there is a negative indication, it is likely that the corresponding phase current in and out of the line is reversed.

8, the analog output is not allowed

Possible cause: The analog output range and project correspondence are incorrect.
Solution: Confirm the correspondence between the upper and lower limits of the analog output range; confirm whether the electrical parameters corresponding to the analog output are correct, such as U, I, P, Q, etc. to ensure the test equipment is normal, if using PLC, ensure the PLC analog input wiring settings correct.

9, communication is abnormal

Possible cause: the meter does not return data
Solution: Firstly, ensure that the communication setting information of the instrument such as slave address, baud rate and calibration mode are consistent with the requirements of the host computer; if there are multiple pieces of instrument communication at the site, there is no data return, and it is accurate and reliable to detect the connection of the field communication bus. Whether the RS485 converter is normal. If only a single block or a few instruments communicate abnormally, check the corresponding communication line. You can modify the exchange exception and the address of the normal instrument slave to test, eliminate or confirm the PC software problem, or exchange the abnormality and the normal instrument installation position. To test, eliminate or confirm instrument failure.
Possible cause: The meter returns data is not accurate
Solution: The instrument communication data has one grid data (float type) and secondary grid data (int/long type). Please read the instructions in the communication address table for the data storage address and storage format, and ensure that the conversion according to the corresponding data format. Instrument communication can be tested using ModScan32 software, which follows the standard Modbus-RTU protocol, and the data can be displayed in integer, floating point, hexadecimal format, etc., and can be directly compared with the meter display data.
Possible communication indicator status information
During the communication test, when the meter receives the data, the meter communication indicator will flash.
